New Location - New Museum
With our opening in 2021, the Museum is creating a new state of arts facility in a building leased from the City of Miami Springs. Although small, the building will allow us to stage rotating exhibits and host community events, as well as traveling history exhibits from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. We received a grant to assist us in developing the new facility from the American Institute of Architecture’s OnePlus Program. The OnePlus Program matches the needs of communities with local architectural firms. Perkins + Will Architecture, a large multinational firm, partnered with us in the redesign and creation of blueprints for our new facility.

The Kellogg Experiential Exhibit
The Kellogg Room, with its “Spirit of the Radio” presentation, will provide visitors with a chance to experience the history of Miami Springs through it’s architecture and its people. The exhibit is sponsored by the Shonberger Family and designed by IMAGOS Entertainment. Your Host, a disembodied “voice” emanating from an antique radio, will take guests through a historical tour of the city’s past to present. This presentation will take place in a re-creation of one to the guest rooms from the city’s famous Country Club Estates Hotel/Battlecreek Spa. The presentation will employ a variety of audio/visual special effects such as projection overlay and virtual audio to create an engaging and informative presentation.
