Wings / Memories of Eastern Air Lines

Please join us for the debut of three very special exhibits:
Country Club Estates Becomes Miami Springs
The names George Merrick and Carl Fisher evoke memories of the roaring twenties and themed towns that shaped the future of South Florida. The story of two lesser heralded developers, Glenn Curtiss and James Bright, captures the pioneering spirit of this unique time. The exhibit Country Club Estates Becomes Miami Springs explores the first ten years in the development of a ‘land boom’ oasis in northwest Dade County Florida.
Wings / Memories of Eastern Air Lines
Miami Springs was once an aviation “company town” for many of the nation’s airlines. Although it’s been almost 30 years since Eastern Air Lines vanished, its legacy is still present. Through photographs and artifacts, the exhibit looks back at a time when Eastern Air Lines were the Wings of Man.

With its “Spirit of the Radio” audio visual presentation, the exhibit provides visitors with the story of how Dr. Kellogg transformed a hotel into an international health spa. This exhibit is made possible by a generous gift from Frank & Yvonne Shonberger.
